Meet the Best-selling Author of Billie B Brown and Hey Jack! - Updated 4:41 PM 12/04/2013
|
|
Come along for a free afternoon tea
and meet best-selling author Sally Rippin, author of the hugely successful
young fiction series Billie B Brown and Hey Jack
.
Meet Billie B Brown! She's
brave, brilliant and bold, and will become your best friend in no time. This
series was created for girls who are desperate to begin reading chapter books,
but are bored of the daggy school readers about children who say ‘bother’.
Billie
B Brown’s best friend Jack finally tells his side of the story in his own
spin-off series, Hey Jack!Hey Jack! is all about down-to-earth,
real-life stories that boys can enjoy and relate to – without anything girly
getting in the way. And Jack’s ginormous imagination injects the series with
fun and humour.
A delightfully
funny detective story for 6 to 8 year olds and a new kind of puzzle book from a
bestselling duo working together for the first time.
Buenos Aires' Chief of Police, Coco Carlomagno, is sure his office high in the
Obelisco is haunted. Every day at the same time he sees a floating pineapple
and every day he hears a terrible noise. What could it mean? Who could it be?
There's only one guinea pig Coco can turn to to help him in his hour of need:
his logic-loving cousin Alberta. Can Alberta help him unravel the mysteries of
the perplexing pineapple?

Art
from Adversity: A Life with Bipolar.
Honest. Positive. Hopeful
.
‘Art From Adversity: A Life With Bipolar’ is Anne
Therese Naylor’s memoir and information guide to mental illness. She provides
insights into what it is like to become mentally ill and what it takes to
become well. Her artworks, both on the cover and woven throughout the book,
illustrate the creativity that can come from adversity.
The key messages in the book are:
- Everyone knows someone
- Everyone has a story
- Positive things can come from adversity
- Diversity is one thing we all have in common
- There is a lot of stigma in society, especially about mental illness, but
there is also a lot of support available
- Education is the key to understanding

Meet Andrew Tink as he Shares his New Book! - Updated 9:37 AM 7/05/2013
|
|
Meet Andrew Tink as he speaks
about
his new book
Air Disaster Canberra:
The plane crash that destroyed a government.
1940. Wartime Australia. Key members of
Menzies' government die in a fiery plane crash. What went wrong and what
happened next? In August 1940 Australia had been at war for almost a year when
a Hudson bomber – the A16-97 – carrying ten people, including three cabinet
ministers, crashed into a ridge near Canberra. In the ghastly inferno that
followed the crash, the nation lost its key war leaders. Over the next twelve
months, it became clear that the passing of Geoffrey Street, Sir Henry Gullett
and James Fairbairn had destabilised Robert Menzies’ wartime government. As a
direct but delayed consequence, John Curtin became prime minister in October
1941. Controversially, this book also tells the story of whether Air Minister
Fairbairn, rather than the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) pilot Bob
Hitchcock, had been at the controls. Andrew Tink tells an engrossing and
dramatic tale of a little-known aspect of Australia’s political history.

funny detective story for 6 to 8 year olds and a new kind of puzzle book from a
bestselling duo working together for the first time.

hospital.
Meet Lulu Bell. Where there's Lulu, there's family,
friends, animals and adventures galore!
Lulu's dad, Dr Bell, is a busy vet, while her mum is an

It's
almost time for Lulu's little sister's birthday party. But there's a problem! A
